![]() "Making the Mahatma" by Museum of Art & Photography, Bengaluru Mahatma Gandhi has influenced not just key thinkers and writers with his involvement in the freedom movement, but a plethora of visual imagery that captured his personal and social life. Bhimsen Joshi was the voice of 'Mile Sur Mera Tumhara', the iconic 80s audio-visual experience, the core message of which was "unity in diversity". Bismillah Khan performed with his shehnai on, in the welcoming of freedom to India. Ravi Shankar was known for his raga "Mohan Kauns", conceived as a tribute to Gandhi upon news of his death. Subbulakshmi was Mahatma Gandhi's favourite musician, and held fund-raisers for the Independence Movement. Sure, its unnecessary in the sense that you should always be doing it, but it's the act of having to execute it in all situations that makes you have to really focus when playing, and if one player gets tilted more than the other, they may start to miss basic things like l-canceling, pushing the other player ahead. The exhibit showcases the quartet of Bharat Ratna awardees, who are associated with India, freedom and music. It's something you HAVE to hit to do well. Like others have said in the past, l-canceling puts more on the line when playing Melee. You see this even at the pro level, so it really makes you think before switching characters (and so you don't do it excessively/unnecessarily). Also, when you switch characters to counterpick, you always have to adjust for the new timing, and it may be easier for the opponent to take advantage of your adjustment and do very well against you the first couple stocks. L-canceling against Ice Climbers, for example, needs to be adjusted, accounting for hitting two characters. In Melee, you always have to l-cancel, yes, but you do have to adapt on it in certain situations and under pressure it definitely starts to falter and is something you really need to keep your focus for to do well. You always have to dribble, it makes the game harder since you can't just run with the ball, and all of the pros have practically mastered it making it seem like it's pointless, but then under pressure or against certain people it gets tricky. I think about as something akin to dribbling in basketball. Very well though out and good points, props for that. You can play it on CEMU emulator too which is nice if you don't have a Wii U. So yeah it's super fun and you can try it out and join the discord here: ![]() The team says they are absolutely working on it though, and that a solution should be expected sometime near the end of the year (paraphrasing). Wavedashing unfortunately is very hard to implement due to how Smash 4 is modded. Now you may have noticed something big is missing. Various other small changes to characters move sets. Ledge hogging (sort of, the recoveries do not snap like smash 4 but if you are on a ledge then you get trumped, they are working on this) L canceling (automatic for now due to limitations) Melee veterans have new animations, hitboxes, and movesets to Higher gravity (feels pretty good but not perfect) I've been playing around with this mod and talking to the team working on this in the discord over the last few days and I am VERY impressed.
